Q: What probe can I use with the Hanna Lab App?
A: The Hanna Lab App requires a HALO Probe. The HALO probes are the world’s first professional pH probes with Bluetooth® Smart technology. HALO pH probes are available in a variety of versions including ones for laboratory (glass body), field (plastic body) and food care use. Each Halo pH probe has a built-in temperature sensor for temperature compensated readings. The flexibility and ease of use of the Halo pH probe are revolutionizing the way pH is measured.
Q: How far can the HALO probe be located from the iPad® while running the Hanna Lab App?
A: The HALO probe has a range of 10 m (33 ft).
Q: Does the Hanna Lab App work on any device?
A: The Hanna Lab App and HALO probes are compatible with iPad 3rd generation or newer (including mini) with iOS 7.1+ and Bluetooth 4.0 technology.
Q: What should I do if the Hanna Lab App will not recognize my HALO Probe?
A: Check the HALO Indicator Light. If it is not flashing the HALO probe is not in discoverable mode, press the button on top of the electrode, the blue indicator ring will flash quickly. If the indicator light does not turn on, replace the battery. If the Hanna Lab App does not recognize your HALO probe and it is in discoverable mode, verify that Bluetooth functionality has been enabled.
Q: Can the battery on my HALO Probe be replaced?
A: Yes, the battery on the HALO Probe is replaceable. To replace the battery: If required, disconnect the probe from the app by pressing the indented button located on the top of the probe or press the Bluetooth icon in the app to turn off the probe. The blue LED stops flashing. Unscrew the battery compartment cover and set aside. The old battery is removed by inserting a straight edge (such as a flat-head screwdriver) into the recessed notch and prying it up. Replace the battery with a new CR2032 3V lithium battery (+ faces outward). Replace the battery compartment cover.
Q: Which buffers can my HALO Probe be calibrated with?
A: The HALO probe can be calibrated at up to 5 points, using seven standard buffers (1.68, 4.01, 6.86, 7.01, 9.18, 10.01, 12.45 pH).
Q: Can data be easily shared?
A: Yes, Data can be shared via email. The shared files are exported as comma-separated values (CSV) and can be opened with any text editor or spreadsheet.
